♦ Salisbury Police sources and the real estate and Police quasi town watch Facebook page “Next Door” meant to stifle complaints about Salisbury’s tidal wave of crime reported that Mayor Pro Tem Maggie Blackwell AKA Margaret Allen Blackwell, 61, and her husband Joseph Blackwell were victims of a larceny. Their gutters were ripped off by a “metal man” (someone who steals metal gutters, downspouts, pipes and the like and sells them to scrapyards or to contractors for illegal redeployment). The crime took place between 12:10 and 12:24 a.m. Monday (according to security cam stills) at the Blackwell home at 422 Mitchell in crime weary Fulton Heights. Here home values have plummeted from the onslaught of unchecked violent and property crime. Folks are leaving Fulton Heights for safer and more prosperous locales well beyond Salisbury.
The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 9:46 p.m. Officers arrived a short time later. They soon learned that next door neighbor James Alexander also lost his gutters to the “metal man”. Monday it was reported that Downtown Salisbury’s First United Methodist Church at 217 S. Church Street also lost gutters to a “metal man”. It is not known at this time if their gutter larceny was related to the crime transpiring at Mitchell Avenue.
Mayor Pro Tem Maggie Blackwell:
Blackwell promised she would not run again for city council. However she promised prior the 2015 city council election she would not run again, but the promise was short-lived . City observers suspect she will take another fling at city council much like a punch drunk fighter stumbles back into ring for a paycheck and addicted to another shot at an ever receding title (Blackwell has always coveted the Mayor’s seat and believes she is entitled to it.)
