♦ There is no doubt that Salisbury’s City Hall is desperate to find new streams of revenue to feed the voracious Fibrant Debacle. Before they’ve had to rely on cutting back on city services, raising slush money off of rising storm water fees (often where no storm water runoffs exist), cutting loose department heads, minimizing core city services, being vigilant for Downtown parking violations, combining city departments and other desperate money saving schemes to shortchange our citizens. Now city code violations are being stepped up.
According to Salisbury Police sources Ronald Eric Stubbs, 52, of 340 Liberty Road in Gold Hill, N.C. was arrested on the charge of violations of city codes and given a secured $300 bond. The crime allegedly was public urination by a building near the railroad tracks in what is generally a desolate area. It’s not like Mr. Stubbs was creating a public display of urinary prowess by the Tinseltown Theater on a Saturday night. Where is Lady Justice anymore in Salisbury? Hiding out in the city’s decaying sewer system or deep in the bowels of the Empire Hotel?
