♦ Cars and vehicles are open season on the streets, parking lots, and driveways of Salisbury, N.C. A rock through a side window, a homebrew “slim jim” and other lock-out tools, or the owner simply forgets to lock their car doors–and anything of value is quickly scooped up and gone.

Salisbury Police sources report that Henry Baxter Alexander, 68, who lives at 419 S. Fulton with his wife Mayor Karen Alexander, was the victim of a larceny–from a motor vehicle on Monday May 8th. The crime occurred in a rear parking lot at the Alexander’s “Heritage Room” on 118 E. Council Street and was reported to 911 dispatch at 5:47 p.m. An air compressor/pump (valued at $50) was stolen from Henry Alexander’s 1999 Green Toyota Tacoma.
The investigation continues. Perhaps a security camera will provide stills. At this time no suspects have been named.
