♦ Salisbury Police sources report that the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 640 W. Jake Alexander Boulevard was the victim of a robbery–strong arm no weapon on Tuesday. A swarthy male wearing an allergy mask entered through the pharmacy’s front door and confronted a female pharmacist, shoving a note across the counter to her, stating that he knew where she lived and threatened to harm her if she did not immediately fill a bag with Oxycodone (A powerful and highly addictive opioid painkiller) and give it to him. The pharmacist was told not to hit the alarm button. The pharmacist complied with the robber’s demands and the masked man promptly departed through the front door. During the course of the robbery the robber never displayed a firearm. The crime was reported to 911 Dispatch at 1:48 p.m. The Salisbury Police arrived quickly and began securing evidence including security camera videos. At this time no accounting is available of the amount of Oxycodone stolen.
The robber was described as swarthy, possibly Asian, standing between 5’6″ to 5’8″, sporting a dark jacket, black shoes, a European golf style cap, and an allergy mask obscuring his nose and mouth. He drove a champagne 2010 or 2011 Lexus SUV (Security camera still below).
The robbery remains under investigation. At this time no suspects have been announced.
