Thank you for your reply.
You mentioned https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr3788/text A bill to repeal the reduction in military retirement and to require a Social Security number to claim certain tax refunds. The bill was referred to the Ways and Means committee on the 19th of December. I appreciate your cosigning this bill. Unfortunately, only 11% of bills made it past this committee and only 3% were enacted in 2011-2013. Since only 55 Republicans cosponsored this bill and no democrats have come on board, Govtrack.us gives the bill a 1% chance of getting past the Ways and Means committee and a 0% chance of being enacted. See their report https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr3788 It seems the bill will die in committee and never reach a vote in the House.
But don’t worry, the Senate demon-crats killed a similar bill which would have replaced recent cuts to veteran’s pensions by closing the tax loophole which allows illegal aliens to access: The Refundable Child Tax Credit
Here is a video of Barbara Boxer crying about the Republicans attacking poor, innocent children. Republicans should take note of her well crafted Saul Alinsky tactics. http://youtu.be/FAMXU-I4vrA
Has anyone on capitol hill noticed the huge numbers of Republicans who are dropping their party affiliation and registering as independents? Gallup found 42% of Americans now identify as independents. Republican identification fell to 25%. That is a 5% drop. http://hotair.com/archives/2014/01/08/are-the-parties-over/
The Tea Party and independent movements should have the GOP leadership taking notice. However, both locally (our county leadership) and nationally (the Speaker of the House, the minority leader of the Senate and others) we only hear how we need to present a kind and gentle GOP. We are told , “We need to reach across the aisle and work with the other party to form a consensus.”
Here is my question, “When the Democrats run as far left as possible and then ask you to reach across the aisle, which direction did you have to move? ” The GOP has reached left so often it is hard to tell one party from the other. “When it comes to the policy opinions of American voters, there have been three peak years for conservatism: 1952, 1980, and . . . right now, according to Professor James A. Stimson, whose decades-long “policy mood” project tracks the changing opinions of the U.S. electorate. Americans have grown more conservative on the whole, but the even more remarkable fact is that the electorate has grown more conservative in every state. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/360861/more-conservative-less-republican-kevin-d-williamson
It’s time for real Republicans to grow ‘em if you got ‘em. Independents largely outnumber the Republicans and Democrats. The GOP would make HUGE gains if it would stand up and stand firm for the veterans who have sacrificed life and limb. They should stop worrying about the Hispanic vote and cut off support to the illegals who are financially killing the country. The illegals will vote for Democrats regardless of how nice you are. (yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause and illegals do vote) You can stand behind our military or you can stand in front of them.
We are sick and tired of pathetic, panty waisted, pussyfoot Politics.
