♦ By Noon today crowds jammed N. Main Street in Downtown Salisbury on an oppressive and muggy 89 degree day for the Cheerwine Centennial Celebration (1917 to 2017).  By midday lines to the concession areas selling Cheerwine merchandise (shirts etc.) produced exceptionally long waits.  Parts of N. Main Street were so packed with visitors they resembled a Walmart Black Friday door buster sale.  Shoulder to shoulder and not for the claustrophobic. Many persons felt the heat.

All-in-all most folks appeared to be enjoying themselves despite the heat, humidity, and crowds. The Cheerwine people were generous with their drinks, handing them out free to everyone. Nobody went thirsty!

Cheerwine did a tremendous job promoting the celebration.
