KERNERSVILLE, NC— North Carolina Connections Academy the state’s newest virtual public school has just partnered with former NBA Point Guard Delaney Rudd. Delaney Rudd attended and played basketball at Wake Forest University from 1981 to 1985. He played in the NBA with the Utah Jazz, Portland Trailblazers, and then went to France. In France Delaney went on to be MVP three years and runner-up to MVP in Euro league. Delaney’s #4 jersey was retired in France, making him the first American player to receive that honor in Europe. He has built his program based on dedication to hard work.

Delaney believes that focused training, along with the desire to play, can increase the player’s chances to play at the highest college level. The Lady Phoenix program was also started by Delaney and is one of the largest programs in the Southeast. Delaney has been a member of Hoops and Dreams since 2006. The Lady Phoenix Program will be partnered with North Carolina Connections Academy. “We are so excited about the opportunity to partner with Mr. Rudd and look forward to serving the needs of the students,” said Superintendent Nathan Currie.
