Salisbury: Man Knifed Monday Night at a Mahaley Avenue Apartment Complex. // Armed Robbery Tuesday Afternoon on North Long Street

♦ Violent Crime appears to be on the rise again in the 9th ranked most dangerous city in North Carolina.  Folks still fear diming out their assailants because they fear retaliation and even if the perpetrator is arrested, how long will it take before they bond out of the overcrowded Rowan County Detention Center?

Salisbury Police report that Eric Lamont Graham, 36, living on Goodnight Road in Salisbury,  was the victim of an “assault-knife” at an apartment complex at 326 Mahaley Avenue on Monday.  Knifed by a stranger, Graham sustained severe lacerations. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 10:38 p.m..  According to reports drugs/alcohol were involved in the knifing.

The case was closed/cleared due to prosecution being declined.

♦ According to sources in the Salisbury Police Kierre Gillespie, 27, living on Filbert Street in Salisbury, was the victim of a “robbery-firearm” in a parking lot on N. Long Street by Park Avenue.  A revolver was held on Gillespie during the robbery when he was forced to part with a $100 cellphone. He was acquainted with the man who pulled a gun on him.  The crime was called into 911 dispatch at 2:07 p.m.  No injuries were reported.

No arrests and no suspects named at this time.
