♦ If no one is murdered, shot, knifed, “rocked”, strong armed, or clubbed, there’s always a cornucopia of burglaries, breaking and entries, sex crimes involving children, purse snatchings, vandalisms, and arsons to report in Salisbury. Gangs, although a significant challenge in Salisbury with murders and shootings, the overwhelming bulk of Salisbury’s crimes are done by repeat offenders, often on heroin, meth, and other narcotics. Contributing mightily to Salisbury’s tidal wave of crime are vagrants and squatters holed up in the city’s abandoned houses, buildings, or in tarp cities in wooded areas. They break into cars and houses and stick-up convenience stores, pizza delivery drivers, or mug people in the city’s parking lots or at ATMs. These so-called lesser criminals grind down a city’s safety and livability. As the crime continues, people leave the city. Few people want to live where they are forced to be hyper-vigilant.
According to Salisbury Police Sources Christopher Gibson, 28, living at 3106 Raymond Avenue, was the victim of a “burglary-unlawful entry”, “larceny-all other”, and “miscellaneous property damage” Tuesday. All told the burglar, someone who knew Gibson, helped themselves to a pistol and a watch (together valued at $650) and damaged property (together valued at $3,295). See the two manifests posted below. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 6:22 p.m.
The crime remains under further investigation. No arrests have been made at this time and no suspects named.
