♦ Salisbury Police sources report Demetri Tyron Barber, 22, a convicted felon on the Salisbury Police Most Wanted List was arrested Friday at 417 N. Main Street allegedly for an armed robbery and a probation violation. Barber was on the Salisbury Police Most Wanted List since September 20th. The exact crimes for which he was wanted were never specified beyond the charges until today when a police report linked Barber back to an April 9th armed robbery with two restricted victims at the Westridge Place Apartments, 233 Claymont Drive in Salisbury.
The Rowan Free Press reported the armed robbery in an April 10, 2017 article: “Salisbury: Armed Robbery at the Westridge Place Apartments Sunday Night on Claymont Drive. Bandit Grabs an iPhone and $13 Bucks”:
Barber was charged with “robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons” and “probation violation”. Under a secured $70,000 bond, Barber is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
