♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Johnny Reid McNeill, 46, of 1105 Preston Lane in Salisbury, allegedly went ballistic during an escalating argument with his mother Gerry Reece, 63, living at the same address and reportedly choked her before slamming her to the ground. The mother sustained a head injury and was transported to Carolinas Northeast Medical Center for treatment. Her current condition is not yet known.
McNeill was arrested and charged with assault by strangulation and assault on a female. Under a secured $2,500 bond, McNeill is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
