♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Eduardo Santiago, recently arrived from Kissimee, Florida, ran into ill fortune Tuesday morning in Applebee’s parking lot at 205 Faith Road when he became a victim of a “robbery-firearm”. A stranger leveled a handgun on Santiago while he snatched the victim’s necklace (valued at $50) and relieved Santiago of $500 in cash. The robber quickly faded from the area. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 12:21 a.m.
The robbery remains under further investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources, Clayton Garrett Byers, 36, of the streets of Salisbury and a formerly from South Carolina, was the victim a “robbery-knife” and “assault-knife” in the Family Dollar parking lot on 410 East Innes Street. Byers was knifed during the robbery, receiving severe lacerations. It is not known at this point if he was transported to an area hospital. It was also not recorded yet if he gave up anything of value to the man who assaulted him with the knife. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 1:40 a.m.
No description of the suspect is available.
