♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Andreon Tyquan Kerns, 17, and Dashawn Coleman, 16, were arrested Saturday at 8:57 p.m. at the intersection of W. Marsh and S. Ellis Streets allegedly for breaking into vehicles, larceny, and damaging property. Handcuffed and placed in police vehicles, the young men underwent the procedures leading to their confinement at the Rowan County Detention Center under secured $5,000 bonds each.
Kearns, of Swicegood Road in Coolemee, and Coleman, of East Council Street in Salisbury, were allegedly involved in breaking into vehicles with two restricted 15 year-old minors in the First United Methodist Church parking lot at 217 S. Church Street in Downtown Salisbury. The four were spotted and reported to 911 dispatch at 8:15 p.m. A group of males gave chase, but the four slipped away.
Later Kearns and Coleman were arrested by the intersection of W. Marsh and S. Ellis Streets. The restricted minors were caught at West Bank Street and South Jackson Street. The stolen items, found in a book bag, included an iPad, 2 iPhones, a cell phone case, a wallet and a purse and were returned to the owners.
