♦ The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are offering a $10,000 reward to anyone having information leading to the arrest of the gunman responsible for the armed robbery of several Cook Out restaurants including the Cook Out on East Innes in Salisbury. Salisbury police report the gunman shot out a window Saturday morning around 6:30 a.m. and robbed an employee. The gunman is described as 5’8” to 5’9” tall, with shoulder-length dreadlocks. Attired in black, the gunman carried a blue and black book bag.
The Salisbury armed robbery follows a similar pattern robberies of Cook Out restaurants in Lincoln County, Charlotte, and Indian Trail.
Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies reported the first armed robbery at the Cook Out on Hwy. 73 in Denver on December 22. Around 7 a.m., a male dressed in black shot out the glass in a door and entered the restaurant. He forced the manager to open the safe and snatched the money in it before leaving in a red, four-door Honda or Toyota.
The next robbery happened Monday, January 13, at the Cook Out on Sardis Road North in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a man dressed in black entered the restaurant around 7:05 a.m. and robbed employees. He carried a light blue duffel bag.
Two days later, a Cook Out in Indian Trail also was robbed at gunpoint. The suspects in each robbery shared a similar description and methods leading the police to believe the robberies are related.
