•Today rewards totaling $35,000 are being offered in the missing teenager Erica Parsons case. During a press conference at the Rowan County Court House this afternoon the FBI announced they were offering a $25,000 reward in addition to the $10,000 reward already set in place by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department.
Erica Parsons, the missing teenager, was reported missing 6 months ago even though she was last seen Rowan county back in November 2011. On July 30th, 2013 Erica’s adoptive brother Jamie reported her missing to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department and alleges Erica was subjected to mental and physical abuse by the adoptive parents.
Sandy and Casey Parsons, the adoptive parents, maintain Erica traveled to live with her biological grandmother, Irene “Nan” Goodman. They claimed Erica was delivered to “Nan” at a Mooresville fast food restaurant. At one point Sandy and Casey said they received a phone call from Erica where she said she did not want to return to Salisbury.
FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Deron Roberts, leading the FBI investigation, has stated that Erica never went to live with Irene Goodman and the alleged biological grandmother did not exist. Rowan County Sheriff Kevin Auten stated publically that Sandy and Casey Parsons have not been truthful.
The Erica Parsons story has gained national media attention on the Nancy Grace Show and on the Dr. Phil Show where Sandy and Casey failed a polygraph exam when questioned about Erica. Extensive property searches were conducted of the Parson’s former residence and at the home of Sandy Parson’s father.
