♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Ronald Roberts Wells, a 17 year old black male attempted to rob a woman in the Medicine Shoppe (1357 W. Innes) parking lot late Thursday morning in Salisbury. The alleged robber, employing a 12 inch butcher’s knife, fled when the woman, a sales rep, screamed and set off her Mercedes car alarm. At the time the alleged robber attempted to force open both the locked driver and passenger doors. The robber is said to have run from the scene only to be arrested several blocks blocks away at Hall’s Gym on West Bank Street by Salisbury Police.
Ronald Roberts Wells, a Salisbury High student from the 200 block of Grant Street, is charged with felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and remains in the Rowan County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
