♦ Sources in both the Salisbury Fire Department and the Salisbury Police Department suspect that four fires in Salisbury this week may have been arsons. The Rowan Free Press reported two suspected arsons in dumpsters Monday evening at around 9:30 p.m.in separate dumpster fires. The two dumpster fires were located at 700 North Long Street, building C, near Diversified Graphics and at 320 East Franklin Street in the rear of Piedmont Alloy. Both fires were extinguished by the Salisbury Fire Department.
On Wednesday evening fires were set at two vacant homes in East Spencer and are also suspected arsons. One home was under renovation at 28 Knox street. A neighbor informed police that she saw a male in a hooded sweater running from the home. The other house at 818 Cedar St. was vacant and was badly burned. The fires was set on the outside of the house near a window.
The Salisbury Police Department and East Spencer Fire Departments are currently investigating.
