Chuck Hughes, Salisbury

♦ I note that Mr. Treece’s recent letter to the editor condemning Richard Hudson is the third of his 1950s style three-chapter serial. I do not know what Mr. Treece’s agenda is, but if he
truly believes Representative Hudson is “treasonous and is out to destroy the country,” why is he not running for his office rather than slandering a conservative congressman who does not genuflect to all of his expectations. Perhaps he is someone who rushes to salute the flag, but does not want the chore of carrying it?

From the time I heard him speak at a TEA party gathering, spewing news-breaking comments about the failing economy and demolishment of the dollar, I was suspicious of his motives. My mistrust became even deeper after hearing his grandiose, self-serving admonition that, “If you knew what I know, you would be scared.”

I learned later that Mr. Treece was a professional financial advisor/investor, something I had already deduced while listening to his lecture about the imminent financial calamity and ruination of the country that was just around the corner. His self-serving suggestion that he alone had insight into saving us uninformed folks from our selves with his knowledge of more secure ways to invest. That comment suggested to me that he was seemingly promoting his business, albeit shadowed by an altruistic desire to warn us about the obvious chaos coming our way.

There will be no end to the chapters in his never-ending story because whomever his district sends to congress, he will eventually find the man or woman to be undeserving of the office and they will eventually be trashed.
