♦ March’s SCV meeting will present a program the roles of a Civil War nurse on Wednesday, March 12, in the Stanback Room of the Rowan Public Library at 6:30 p.m. The program will be given by Nancy Brewer who will portray a Civil War Nurse. Nancy gives an eyewitness account of the many roles women played during The War Between the States. She presentations are both informative and emotional, detailing what a civil war nurse would experience both working in make-shift hospitals and on the battlefields. Nancy is a best-selling author of many historical fiction books. Her latest book, “The House with the Red Light” can be purchased with a companion CD of original songs composed by Nancy and award winning bluegrass artist Rhonda Vincent.
