Public Announcement

♦ Honorably discharged veterans living in North Carolina may now have their veteran status designated on their DMV driver’s license or state-issued ID.

Veteran designations will be printed in blue on the card’s front and back. Such designations will help veterans showing their status to qualify for discounts with participating retail stores, hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues across the state.

The new license can be obtained from any state DMV office. Veterans will not have to wait until their renewal date to obtain one. To apply, go to any DMV office and present current license, DD-214 or a certified copy, and $10 to pay for the duplicate license.

Learn more about the new veteran’s drivers license by contacting the Rowan County Veteran Resource Office at 704-216-8138 .
