♦ I read last night in the other paper that Salisbury High is ranked the 10th best high school in North Carolina by the U.S. News and World Report. Well obviously U.S. News and World Report never set foot in Rowan County or in Salisbury High for that matter. How the magazine arrived at its findings does not jibe with Salisbury High’s horrible reputation or composite test performances on statewide evaluation READY. Salisbury High may only be better than Henderson and North. Salisbury is noted for gangs, bad behavior, a recent shooting, drugs, illiteracy, and a losing football team. Parents want get their kids out of there and out to county schools like Carson and East Rowan where the academics are notably better.
God bless Dr. Brown who has his hands full in taking over the reins there. The last principal quit before her first year ended.
