♦ Look at Downtown Salisbury ONLY’s record of destruction in the City of Salisbury and their parasitism of the county taxpayers over the years. The special interest bankers and real estate families try to dominate the city and the county for their own profit and no one else’s. Look at Downtown Salisbury Only’s record:
• The Fibrant Debacle. This move in a crowded field of superior incumbents left the city of Salisbury flat lined with zero tomorrow. Salisbury doesn’t have the cash flow to fund the Taj Mahal at 329 S. Main and had to yank their LGC application. The city can’t keep up its properties. The city’s police and fire departments are woefully understaffed and are at the mercy of Salisbury’s gang and drug lords. Salisbury, N.C. is the break-in capital of North Carolina. Check out the Salisbury Post’s Crime Blotter for a running talley of Salisbury’s ongoing avalanche of crime. One of the main reasons why people fear going there and businesses dare not set foot there.
• The Empire Bat-Tel. 7 banks threw good money down the hole of a proven non-entity. If the Salisbury gets lucky maybe someone will race out of a floorboard and buy this rotter nickels on the dollar at a sheriff’s sale and doze it for a parking lot.
• Low-rated public schools in Salisbury. After years of hiding the ultra poor performance of the public schools in Salisbury behind smoke screening, accenting the positive, and “awards”, the schools performance was outed in the States READY Report in Salisbury, N.C. The current board of education is tied to Downtown Salisbury ONLY. Except for Chuck Hughes and Josh Wagner, the rest of the Rowan-Salisbury’s School Board takes its marching orders from Downtown Salisbury ONLY.
• Salisbury’s high FBI crime stats owe in large part to the city’s government’s lack of police staffing due to the city’s debt. The city follows the script of Downtown Salisbury ONLY.
• Salisbury’s stratospheric 28% Poverty. That kind of poverty doesn’t come by accident. It comes from the choices the city government made under the command and direction of Downtown Salisbury ONLY. Salisbury has become a welcome magnet for poverty with its homeless shelter, Tarp Cities, and outrider homeless satellite shelter.
• Salisbury’s blighted and vacancy-filled downtown and Main Street areas. Sore thumb with little traffic serves as a thermometer for city’s lack of vibrancy.
• Downtown Salisbury ONLY’s forcible annexation of prime cut turf in the county and offering inequitable exchanges to their vassals.
• Downtown Salisbury ONLY future projects set to decimate Salisbury: 1. Traffic Calming on East Innes and Left Turn at light. Seriously. 2. Proposed “Needle Park” a stone’s throw from the newest and largest homeless shelter in North Carolina sure to attract more homeless to Salisbury.
Downtown Salisbury ONLY gives no thought of tomorrow as they have for well over a decade. They only have one thought and that’s to help themselves to the county taxpayer money any way they can.
Jim Sides and Joe Coladarci, if elected as County Commissioners, will draw a line in the sand and tell the special interests of Downtown Salisbury ONLY to scram. Jim and Joe listen to the entire county and all its municipalities.
