♦ It is either every two or four years voters have to decide if the elected official needs to be replaced. This year I feel there are a few that need to be. But make no mistake, Sheriff Auten isn’t one of them.
I have worked for four sheriffs since 1973, one full time and the others part time or reserve for total of 34 years. As a full time Lt. under Stirewalt, I was also third in command of the dept as the Training Officer before I returned to the patrol division as shift Lt. Each sheriff had his own personality and way of doing things, and so does Auten, but his way works and he needs to stay in office to continue with his plan.
I have not seen any sheriff give back to the community like Sheriff Auten does. He could be like one in the past that was a do nothing sheriff but Sheriff Auten chooses to set the example. I find him very knowledgeable on issues and he continues with training and standards for himself and the deputies under him. I see no need to make any changes and feel it would be disastrous to do so. Sheriff Auten is there when needed and only leaves when the job is done. What else could a voter ask for? Join me in supporting for another four years, Sheriff Kevin Auten.
