♦ At the request of some Rowan County citizens, Brian Kiever agreed to sit down and talk with me. Several citizens had specific questions for Brian and wanted to hear his answers instead of reading about it. Brian told me several times he is a Law Enforcement Officer at heart and not a Politician. He and I agreed before starting that “once the camera comes on, there will be no re-takes”. We were asked to “keep it real” and this video is as real as it gets.
Please excuse my laughter when I asked if Brian was “scared”. In my mind, I was thinking that there is no way he’d still be in this race, if he were. I noticed when the storm came up, everyone ran, except Brian Kiever.
I have watched the Kiever family go through many things since Brian accepted the challenge from his supporters to be in this race. Though the emotions of his family was shaken by the events, they stand strong even still. It is their faith in God, their belief in the law and Brian’s guidance that has kept them moving forward. It is my hope that this video will refresh and renew the belief in Rowan County’s citizens that no matter what life has thrown our way, we can overcome it.
