Committee to Save Our Rowan-Salisbury Public Schools

♦ We are asking all concerned citizens and parents to come to Monday’s Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education Meeting at 5 p.m. at the Long Street Board Room at 110 South Long Street in East Spencer and let your voices be heard loud and clear.  If you are disgusted with our local sham public school education weighed down by many low performing schools (D’s and F’s), then it is time to let them have it about our extreme displeasure in one of the worst performing school systems in the State of North Carolina.  No more excuses!  No more Cover-ups!  No more pushing high-priority school system needs aside so they can build cushy domed buildings at great public expense and at the expense of our children’s education.

Come and be heard loud and clear Monday at the public hearing on the school system’s alleged plan to deal with the school systems “low-performing schools” (All those many D and F Schools).  Accept no soft-soaping from our superintendent whose record of mediocrity continues intact from the York County School District in South Carolina.

Citizens and parents living within the confines of Salisbury ought to be especially enraged as their abysmal schools achieved grades no higher than D or F and got worse this year.

Hurl back the night!

Angel Arias Transported Back to Salisbury N.C. to Face Justice for the Alleged Brutal Murder of Transgender Elisha Maurice Walker

♦ Angel Dejesus “Cheezy” Arias, 23, a Latin Kings gang member formerly of Salisbury, was transported back Friday to Salisbury to face justice for the alleged brutal blunt force murder of  transgender woman Elisha Maurice Walker, 20, from Salisbury.  The pair were alleged to be hanging out daily at Arias’s residence at 121 Hemlock Drive in Salisbury up until Elisha Maurice Walker’s disappearance.  Many believe Walker met her end in Salisbury, although law enforcement has not yet confirmed this.

Charged with first degree murder (felony) and larceny of a motor vehicle (felony), Arias is now in the Rowan County Detention Center after being transferred from the Johnston County Jail.

Under a secured $50,000 bond for the larceny of motor vehicle (felony), Arias has no bail set for 1st degree murder charge.

From the August 14th, 2015 Rowan Free Press article on Arias’s arrest in Johnston County, N.C.:

“Elisha Maurice Walker, 20, a transgender woman from Salisbury missing since November 2014, was found dead Thursday in a shallow grave in a wooded area behind a house on Homestead Lane in Johnston County. Walker’s body was identified by her physical description and personal property.

Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested and charged Angel Arias, 23, an alleged Latin Kings gang member who lived up until February of 2015 at 121 Hemlock Drive in Salisbury, with Walker’s homicide.

Walker was reported missing by her family after family and friends lost contact with her in late October. Walker, prior to her disappearance, kept regular contact with her family and friends phone calls, texts, and Facebook, but all that stopped in late October and her family became alarmed.

Walker’s 2000 silver Pontiac Sunfire was found burned near the town of Clinton in Sampson County, N.C. The fire appeared intentionally set. Not long after Angel Arias, who formerly lived at 121 Hemlock Drive in Salisbury, became a “person of interest” in Walker’s disappearance. In early August the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office was alerted that Arias was being held on drug charges in the Johnston County Jail. Right about that time a house on Homestead Lane near Smithfield in Johnston County was identified as a possible location for Walker’s body.

Thursday investigators found Walker’s body in a shallow grave in woods behind the house on Homestead Lane. Soon after Walker was IDed and brought to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh for an autopsy and final positive ID. Its said that she likely died of a blunt force trauma. No motive is known for the killing.

Arias, awaiting transport back to Rowan County, was charged with murder (felony) and larceny of a motor vehicle (felony). He is currently being held without bond in the Johnston County Jail.

Concord N.C. Kicks Salisbury-Rowan Utilities to the Curb in Favor of Albemarle’s Super New Water Facility in 2016. A Consumer Victory!

♦ Sadly the RFP learned that Concord will be kicking Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU) to the curb to purchase water inexpensively from Albemarle’s super new water facility in 2016.  Kudos to Albemarle and their consumer-oriented approach to water.  Too bad Salisbury got greedy and blew the multi-million dollar account with Concord.  So much for Salisbury’s alleged regionalism.

Here is an excellent article found on City of Kannapolis’s website discussing Albemarle’s new state-of-the-art water plant:

Jonathan Cory Yarborough, From Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted List, Nabbed in Salisbury, N.C. Allegedly with a “Taste” of “King Heroin”

♦ Seems like last week Johnathan Cory Yarborough, 29, just showed up on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office’s Most Wanted List and now he’s in the Rowan County Detention Center awaiting trial.  Give Yarborough an A for effort.  What better place to hide out than in a nest of thieves, murderers on the loose, forked-tongued city councilmen, and the loyal subjects of “King Heroin”: SHOTZBURY AKA Salisbury, N.C. On second thought Yarborough must’ve stuck out with all those facial and neck tats. Those “teardrop” tats generally mean their wearer “wasted” someone inside of prison. Do we have a pretender here?

Yarborough’s string ran out and he was arrested Sunday at 224 Geiger Lane in Salisbury. Allegedly he tried to hide under a bed to elude the deputies, but Yarborough should know better. Under beds and in closets are some of the first places law enforcement officers check. To further compound his troubles Yarborough was alleged to possess a syringe full of heroin and a firearm (felons are not supposed to have these…even in Shotzbury).

Yarborough is charged with resist/delay/obstruct a public officer (misdemeanor), weapons possession by felon of firearms etc. prohibited (misdemeanor), Possession of control substance schedule I (felony), maintain a dwelling/vehicle for controlled substance (misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

Under a secured $35,000 bond, Yarborough remains in the Rowan County Detention Center.

Charlie Thomas Black, CARJACKED at Gunpoint Tuesday Morning on the Way to Sheetz in Salisbury, N.C.

♦ Tuesday, sometime after 4 a.m., Charlie Thomas Black, 35, of Torbush Road in Salisbury, was reported to be on his way to Sheetz in his wife’s green Ford F-150 pickup to purchase a pizza. While waiting at a stop sign at McCanless and Bringle Ferry Roads, two cars slid up beside Black and two Black males, brandishing handguns, got out and approached the victim’s pickup. Black, in survival mode, climbed out and told the pair of armed carjackers the pickup was theirs.  No hassle. Smart basic survival move. Why resist and become another “unsolved murder” in the Bury?

The carjackers allegedly turned left onto Bringle Ferry Road and sped off into the darkness.

Still shaken by the incident, Black walked to an area nursing home “Autumn Care” where the lights were still on and pounded on the door. Soon Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene.

Black’s wife took a taxi to meet her husband and return him home.  Allegedly she scolded him for being out so late. Sheetz isn’t known for serving pizza to “die for”.

The crime remains under investigation. At this time the green Ford F-150 pickup has not been recovered.

In you have any information about this carjacking contact Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.

Pazazu Algarad, the Alleged White Cannibal and Satanist Who Put Salisbury N.C. on the Map in 2014, Dead of an Apparent Suicide

♦ Pazazu Algarad (John Lawson), 36, the alleged white cannibal and Satanist who put Salisbury, N.C. briefly on the map in 2014, died Wednesday in Raleigh’s Central Prison from an apparent suicide.

Who can ever forget Algarad’s 2nd place finish in the Rowan Free Press’s Poll for “2014 News Maker of the Year” behind Donald Ray Morgan, the convicted terrorist and ISIS disciple who founded the Islamic Center of Salisbury and landed in the national spotlight.  Third place went to former Salisbury City Manager Doug Paris.

Algarad’s lifeless form was found in his cell by prison personnel just before dawn on Wednesday morning.  The alleged white cannibal and Satanist was in Raleigh’s Central Prison awaiting trial on charges of murdering Joshua Wetzler of Salisbury and depositing his remains in a shallow grave by a swimming pool behind Algarad’s “house of horrors” on Knob Hill Drive in Clemmons, N.C.  Algarad’s “house of horrors” later was condemned and demolished.

Will Salisbury’s City Hall fly a pentagram flag at half mast on Thursday in honor of Algarad? Or will the city go with a more traditional “Jolly Roger” better suited to City Hall’s statewide reputation? Perhaps Downtown Salisbury Inc. might rename this Saturday night’s festivities after the city’s adopted son “Pazazu Algarad’s Halloween Hunt”.

Daniel Williford, Formerly of Salisbury, N.C., a Pilot and Velocenet Pitchman, Gets 9 Years for a Multi-Million Dollar Ponzi Scheme

RFP/U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina

♦ Some persons will recall Daniel H. Williford, 57, when he lived in Salisbury and boasted of being an “inventor”, a U.S. Airways pilot, and a businessman promoting the wireless internet provider “Velocenet”.  Those who recall him, will remember his easy-breezy style perfectly fitted to a town brimming with glib talking sociopaths, music men, and dupes galore.  What better place for a con artist than the “Bury”?  Smug and self-assured, Williford was destined for “bigger things”.  Those “bigger things” arrived Tuesday when Williford got slammed with 9 plus years in a Federal can.  Below is a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina:

CHARLOTTE, NC—Daniel H. Williford, 57, of Fleetwood, N.C. was sentenced on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 to 110 months in prison for operating a Ponzi scheme that defrauded nearly 100 investors, announced Jill Westmoreland Rose, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Judge Max O. Cogburn, Jr. ordered Williford to serve three years of supervised release and to pay $17,915,013.35 as restitution.

U.S. Attorney Rose is joined in making today’s announcement by John A. Strong, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in North Carolina.

According to filed court documents and statements made in court, from January 2007 through July 2013, Williford operated a fraudulent investment scheme, through which he obtained more than $44 million from over 200 investors in Charlotte and elsewhere, causing nearly $18 million in losses to more than 100 investors by the time the scheme collapsed. Court records show that Williford lied to his victims, promising their money would be invested in wireless Internet equipment, Internet towers, and other facilities and companies. According to court records, rather than investing the victims’ money as promised, Williford used the majority of the funds to run a Ponzi-style scheme and used a portion to fund his personal lifestyle. Court records show that over course of the fraud, Williford invested only $7.7 million of the victims’ money and used approximately $32 million to pay some of his victims’ supposed “profits” on their investments and to cover personal expenses.

Court records also show that even after Williford ceased having any legitimate business operations, he continued to solicit money from investors for several years. One victim told the court yesterday evening that he was Williford’s co-pilot in a commercial airliner, and that Williford had literally defrauded him on the runway before takeoff. Other victims spoke about being unable to retire, declaring bankruptcy, losing children’s college savings, and one victim told the court he would have to sell his businesses, jeopardizing the jobs of over 50 employees as a result of the fraud. Williford pleaded guilty to securities fraud in July 2014.

Judge Cogburn said that Williford’s lengthy sentence was intended to “frighten those who will think about doing this, to make them think twice about stealing other people’s money” and to make such people realize “that going to prison for that long is not worth it.” Judge Cogburn also noted that the victims “will suffer a long time,” and pointed to the “callousness and huge period of time in which [Williford] took these people’s money” as a basis for the sentence.

The FBI investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Ryan of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Charlotte prosecuted the case.

The charges were brought in connection with the President’s Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force. The task force was established to wage an aggressive, coordinated and proactive effort to investigate and prosecute financial crimes. With more than 20 federal agencies, 94 U.S. attorneys’ offices, and state and local partners, it’s the broadest coalition of law enforcement, investigatory and regulatory agencies ever assembled to combat fraud. Since its formation, the task force has made great strides in facilitating increased investigation and prosecution of financial crimes; enhancing coordination and cooperation among federal, state and local authorities; addressing discrimination in the lending and financial markets; and conducting outreach to the public, victims, financial institutions and other organizations. Since fiscal year 2009, the Justice Department has filed over 18,000 financial fraud cases against more than 25,000 defendants. For more information on the task force, please visit http://www.StopFraud.gov.”

Primal Knife Fight Turns Savage at the Firewater Lounge on Avalon Drive in Salisbury, N.C. Early Friday

♦ The tidal wave of Salisbury violence has not dampened. It appears to merely have changed weaponry. Salisbury Police were dispatched to the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center ER at about 1:40 A.M. after two knife fighters showed up after their hell-for-leather tiff at the Firewater Lounge on Avalon Drive. The two participants in the ancient combat sport of knife fighting were identified as Daulon Ivra Sampson, 28, of Statesville Blvd. in Salisbury, who was a Firewater patron, and Antonio Landers of Salisbury, a Firewater employee.

Sampson, suffering brutal knife wounds to his face and chest and badly bloodied, was transported, after his Novant ER experience, by helicopter to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Landers suffered from a badly gashed pinky finger that exposed bone.

It’s alleged, yet unsubstantiated by sources, that the two knife fighters knew each other from Georgia.

At this time the investigation continues and no charges are yet filed.

Daulon Ivra Sampson is no stranger to the Salisbury knife fighting scene. In April he was involved in a knife and broken bottle scuffle at the grocery store across from the Livingstone College campus with Javion Scott who allegedly stabbed Sampson in the leg, leaving a gash 4 to 5 inches long. Scott was later arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Pictured below is Daulon Ivra Sampson:
