♦ According to police sources an arsonist attempted to torch a house on Friday evening in Salisbury, N.C. The fire was started by inserting burning paper in the home’s bamboo blinds at 142 Ridge Ave. The occupant suffered a lump on the head when reentered the smoke-filled house to rescue his cats. No cats were injured, but the bamboo blinds were damaged by the fire.
