♦ I am deeply saddened by the condition that Salisbury, N.C. has fallen. Several wrong turns and the city I once knew has fallen on very hard times. I seldom go there anymore. Every week I learn about how terrible Salisbury has become. The water and sewer system is falling apart and they have no money to repair it. The school system is struggling with illiteracy, heroin, meth, and gangs. People are moving away in droves. How many days go by without reading or seeing where people get beat up, robbed, shot, carjacked, and murdered. Its a rough place to be–even “8 Block” is affected. City hall messed up. They have few cops and fire fighters. The city looks destitute. They can’t even play pretend anymore because everybody is seeing through it.
I am going to pray for Salisbury and hope they start doing the right thing so someday they can make a comeback. Here is a song to lift up Salisbury by The White Buffalo:
