♦ I believe the City Council abused its authority when it denied the county’s request for a special-use permit in order for it to move forward with relocation of some county departments is clearly a pathetic attempt at reprisal against a County Commission that de-annexed the airport, wants to consolidate county employees and departments at the West End Plaza at great cost savings to tax payers and prevented the city from placing a Central Office Building on a gifted, but contaminated and unstable parcel of land on South Main Street with promise of non-existing parking spaces.
It is encouraging that at least one council member did the right thing. Thank you, Mr. Miller, for putting petty politics aside.
