Jonathon Morris, U.S. Army Ranger (Ret.) and Rowan County Sheep Baron
♦ This November I will supporting three outstanding candidates for the Rowan-Salisbury School Board: Travis Allen, Dean Hunter, and Phil Hardin. Voting for these outstanding candidates will be an easy choice. They will put the school children, teachers, and taxpayers of Rowan County first and foremost.
Save for Josh Wagner and Chuck Hughes we can’t afford to keep any of the incumbents and they must be voted out.
The Rowan-Salisbury school system has sunk to an all time low and it became a bottom rung school system performing badly on the state board of education testing. Too many youngsters in the upper grades can’t read which is bad for their futures. Drugs and discipline problems are out of control.
The school board, save for Josh and Chuck, followed Miller’s bad leadership to sue you and I the taxpayers instead of trying to work things out with the county commissioners. The incumbents wasted huge sums of money padding their slick attorney’s pockets. Finally the mediator pulled the string on Miller and his followers.
It was the incumbents who tried to mess the taxpayers up big time by trying to shove a Taj Mahal on bad soil down at 329 S. Main without a parking lot and now they’re trying to wheel and deal in secret to put an overpriced too small Central Office down on a postage on 504 N. Main. Somebody profits from these deals and its not the children, the teachers, and the Rowan County taxpayers.
A Central Office is hardly a top priority–the school children need better school buildings and not to be crammed into shoe-box trailers.
There’s at least 15 good reasons to vote for Dean Hunter, Phil Hardin, and Travis Allen. Get out there and vote. This is not an election to miss. The incumbents already showed what they can do and that’s just waste our money and put our kids into 10th rate learning situations.
While I’m at it, there is only one candidate running for county commissioner worth anything and that is Christopher Cohen. He’s by far the smartest of the lot and cares the most about the county and every municipality in it.
