♦ The most credible source of information on the South Rowan High School lockdown, the Facebook fight video arrests, and the alleged threats “to shoot up the place” posted on Facebook is the Facebook page of the Landis Police Department, Landis, N.C. Here Captain Hosey, of the Landis Police Department, posted both commentary and excellent video reports on the comprehensive Landis Police investigation.
Captain Hosey posted on May 8th about the arrests and charges filed in connection with the Landis Police Investigation: “A summary of today’s arrests/charges filed in connection with our investigation into the fights & social media posts that led to the lockdown of South Rowan High School on Thursday.
Update: Claude Joseph Stanback has turned himself in/been arrested since this video was made.
Sebastian Johnson has been arrested by the Spencer Police Department.
Several news stations have reported these fights are some sort of “fight club” – this is totally inconsistent with our investigation. These fights appear to have been loosely planned, but were the result of personal conflicts – not any type of club.”
Captain Hosey posted on Thursday May 7th about the South Rowan High School Lockdown: “South Rowan High School is in a code yellow lockdown today, and extra officers are on campus, in response to a threat made on social media.
Yesterday afternoon, the Landis Police Department became aware that a post had been made on social media threatening to “shoot the place up.”
Investigators have identified & are familiar with the individual who made the post, as well as several others who were associated with the post. Investigators do NOT believe this to be a credible threat, however the school has been placed in a code yellow lockdown & extra officers have been deployed at the school today out of an abundance of caution.
To be clear, there have been NO guns located on campus & NO disturbances on the campus today.
No individuals have been arrested, and no charges have been filed at this time, however the investigation is still on-going. Accordingly, no names can be released at this point.”
Captain Posey posted two excellent Facebook videos on May 7th and 8th on the Landis Police Department Facebook page. You can find them here:

Here is the current list of those arrested and charged:
Barbara Jean Aislop, 41, of China Grove was arrested on Saturday and charged with 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was said to have facilitated one of the fight videos. Aislop allegedly set the ground rules for the fight and told a young female to pat down the “contestants” to make sure they were not armed. She also warned bystanders not to “jump in”.
William Towell, 17, of Salisbury and a East Rowan High Student, was arrested and charged Friday for making a false report of mass violence toward an educational property (felony). Towell is alleged to have posted a threat on Facebook claiming to that “a squad was going shoot the place up”. Its said that no specific school was named on Facebook threat. According to the Landis Police Facebook Towell admitted making up the threat. In response South Rowan High underwent a “code yellow” lockdown. Towell was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and released.
Austin Sloop, 17, of China Grove and one of the video fight participants on Hazel Street was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for fighting.
