♦ Sunday around 9 p.m. an unidentified black male was shot in a car-to-car gunfight in Salisbury near North Main and 11th Streets. The car, the wounded man was driving in, went off the road on Jackson Street and came to a halt.
EMS transported the wounded man, alleged to be bleeding profusely, to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment. Later he was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. His condition is unknown.
Last evening the area around Jackson and North Main became active with Salisbury Police and Sheriff’s Office vehicles as investigators combed the area for shell casings and spoke with anyone who might have witnessed the shooting
At this time the police have no suspects and no motives. The shooting remains under investigation.
