♦ Salisbury Police Department sources report they were dispatched to the Three Star Mini-Mart (formerly M & L’s Mini Stop) at 1130 N. Main on the report of a shooting at 2:30 p.m. Monday

A couple living in the Country Club section of Salisbury were targets of a pair of gunman in the Three Star Mini-Mart’s parking lot.  The couple Mary Spencer, 50, and Mark Spencer, 55,  were shocked to see bullet holes in their 2000 white Lexus LS 400 when they drove off the lot onto 11th Street and around corner, a safe distance from the convenience store.  They knew their vehicle was struck several times, but they imagined they were being pelted by rocks when they heard loud bangs.  Mercifully the couple was not injured. Two Shooters were involved.

Salisbury Police are reporting this as an assault–gun, all other discharging firearm, and miscellaneous property damage. When Ms. Spencer entered the Three Star Mini-Mart, prior to the shooting, she saw 4 or 5 males in the store. When she was already in line at the register, a man cut in front of her. She exchanged somewhat heated words with him and then left by the front door. Once outside several men hemmed her in on the sidewalk and briefly kept her from passing. After she got in her car and started to drive away, two men opened fire on her car.

Police are reported to be viewing the mini mart’s security video so they review images of the shooters described only as Black males.

1130 N. Main has been a crime hot spot for several years where armed robberies have taken place.
