♦ Vandalism is all too common in the blighted South Main Bad Lands.  Usually its window rocking, gang tags, spray paint graffiti, and more recently high-velocity gas pellet guns damage.  Early Monday morning vandals found a creative use for the piano when they slammed the city’s “Tickle the Ivories” piano into a plate glass window at street level at The Pedal Factory and shattered it.

Persons dwelling in the area or walking their dogs on S. Main, in the wee hours of the morning, say an unidentified male used their heft behind the “Tickle the Ivories” piano and slammed it full-force into the window. It’s alleged, but not confirmed that several persons clapped and cheered down the street.

The damage appears to have been done to The Pedal Factory folks who do a great job of providing bikes and teaching people how to repair them. Please donate to this worthy organization.

Here’s a story we did last year on this worthy organization:

Perhaps security video cams on South Main will capture some good video of the miscreant(s).

Glass Of Kannapolis Glazers replaced the broken window with a temporary fiberboard panel.
