♦ Salisbury Police sources report the historic Henderson Law office on the grounds of the Rowan County Public Library at 201 W. Fisher Street (at the corner of S. Church and W. Fisher Streets) was the victim of vandalism when 3 of its windows were damaged by gas powered pellets Monday. The damage was estimated at $150. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 1 p.m. No one was injured. The historic Henderson Law Office where President Andrew “Old Hickory” Jackson, hero of the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812, once clerked.
It is not known at this time if this pellet assault is related to President Andrew Jackson monument assaults and protests occurring in the South or if it is ordinary criminal mischief.
