♦ Businesses large and small suffer in Salisbury not only from high property taxes, smart water meter technology, extreme municipal service district taxes, alleged “storm water runoffs”, a woefully undermanned police force, a growing human wave of persons living on the streets of Salisbury involved in breaking and entries, survivalist shoplifting, panhandling, armed robberies, muggings, and purse-snatchings. Burglaries and smash and grabs, fueled by Salisbury’s heroin, meth, crack, opioid, and alcohol epidemic, are daily facts of life throughout Salisbury’s diminishing business districts. Suck it up folks, more retail leakage to the internet and safer counties. The hide it–don’t fix it strategy never worked anywhere. It’s wrecked Salisbury.
According to Salisbury Police sources Quick Cash Pawn, at 2045 Statesville Boulevard, was the victim of a “burglary-forcible entry” on Monday when a burglar using a pry tool forced open a back door (point of entry) and moved quickly to cart off a large screen LG TV valued at $500. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 6:16 a.m. and officers arrived a short time later. What they saw was a common occurrence. A door pried open and missing product.
