Salisbury: High-speed Police Chase of a Trio of Car Thieves Winds Up with Honda Accord Smashing into a Stone Wall by Knox Middle School

♦ Salisbury Police sources that officers were called around 4 a.m. Thursday to the scene of vehicle break-ins at the Crown Point Apartment complex near Sunset Drive.  Officers converged on the area with a description of a 2010 White Honda Accord with a stolen license plate was provided by a witness at the Crown Point Apartment Parking lot.  Officers quickly found a match in the Alexander Station Apartment parking lot, but when they attempted to stop the car with three occupants, the Honda Accord sped off, accelerating at speeds of 80 mile-per-hour.  From Statesville Boulevard to Jake Alexander Boulevard with tires squeeling, and then to Statesville Boulevard and Mahaley Avenue.  At adrenalin speed the Honda Accord smashed into a stonewall across from the Knox Middle School entrance on West Park Drive.

Suspects’s 2010 white Honda Accord:

The crash mangled the front end of the Honda Accord.  It’s driver, identified as Eugene Green of Charlotte, sat inertly behind the wheel with a fractured leg while his two companions high-tailed into the darkness and freedom.  Green was taken to a yet to be identified area hospital for leg surgery.  He has not yet been formerly arrested or charged which will come after his hospital release.

Salisbury Police investigators searched the Honda Accord and located burglary tools and items stolen from the Crown Point Apartment parking lot. Some potential problems for suspect Green.
